BECOMING A PILOT

We offer a variety of flight training options to suit your needs. See below for more information on the pilot ratings we offer.

Private Pilot

 
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Be at least 17 years of age
  • Be able to read, speak, and understand the English language
  • Obtain at least a current third-class medical certificate
  • Receive a minimum of 40 hours of flight time including training and solo flight
  • Pass a knowledge test as well as the practical test

Instrument Rating

 
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Hold at least a current Private Pilot Certificate
  • Be able to read, speak, and understand the English language
  • Receive a training record endorsement from an instructor
  • Receive and log training on the areas of operation
  • Pass a knowledge test as well as the practical test

Commercial Pilot

 
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Be at least 18 years of age

  • Hold at least a Private Pilot Certificate

  • Be able to read, speak, and understand the English language

  • Obtain at least a current second-class medical certificate

  • Must log at least 250 hours of flight time as a pilot

  • Pass a knowledge test as well as the practical test

Multi-Engine Add-on

DISCOVERY FLIGHTS

Want to learn more about becoming a pilot?

We offer short and informative discovery flights that will help you come closer to a decision at minimal cost. All Discovery Flights can include additional passengers and can be scheduled anytime that works for you.

Standard Discovery

$90

This discovery includes a basic familiarization of the aircraft then a 30 minute flight.

Extended Discovery

$130

This discovery includes the basic familiarization of the aircraft along with trying your hand at some basic maneuvers. The flight is around 1 hour.

AIRCRAFT RENTALS

Let us help you get started or help you continue with your flight training needs!

At Taylor-Made Flight Training, we train in aircraft that has all of the equipment needed for you to obtain your ratings, at very fair prices. Our aircraft can also be rented at “block-rate” hours if you are seeking to just rent an aircraft to build hours. The aircraft are based out of our home base of Wahoo, Nebraska, but may be able to ferry aircraft to a nearby airport to better assist your needs.

Dry Lease Your Aircraft

Do you currently own your own aircraft and wish for us to either train you in your aircraft? No problem! Also, if you own your own aircraft and are seeking for ways to generate additional revenue, contact us today and we can discuss options for us to dry lease your aircraft to add to our fleet of training aircraft.
